Certified in Lead Safe Work Practices
- Federal Law Effective April 22, 2010.
- Common renovation activities like sanding, cutting, and demolition can create hazardous lead dust and chips by disturbing lead-based paint, which can be harmful to adults and children.
- Do not hire a contractor unless their insurance agent provides you a certificate of insurance directly – otherwise you can be held liable for any injuries or other accidents that occur if there coverage is not current.
- Weed out sub-standard contractors that expose customers to serious health risks.
- Ahern Painting is certified and in compliance with the new law.
After April 22, 2010, federal law will require you to be certified and to use lead-safe work practices. To become certified, renovation contractors must submit an application and fee payment to EPA. The full context of the law can be viewed at: http://epa.gov/lead/pubs/renovation.htm
